1. What is the date for the next 3-6 course?

Answer: The Primary Diploma Course begins every year in the month of August and runs until April the following year.

2. What is the date for the next 6-12 course?

Answer: The date for the next Elementary course is yet to be confirmed. Please check the website periodically for updates.

3. What is the procedure for admissions on the Diploma Course?

Answer: Download the application form for the course interested from the website and send it by post to the training centre along with all the necessary attachments. Based on the application, there will be an interview with a member of faculty. Selected candidates will receive a letter of acceptance with a last date for the payment of fees. Once the fees are paid the candidate will receive a letter of confirmation.

4. What is the minimum qualification to apply for the Diploma Course?

Answer: A graduate degree is the minimum qualification required to do the Diploma Course. Occasionally exceptions are made based on the candidate’s life experiences.

5. What is an Assistant’s Course?

Answer: The AMI Primary Assistants Certificate Course is useful for parents, guardians, and adults working with children from all fields. The course offers an in depth understanding of Dr. Montessori's Approach to Education. Course work will consist of lectures, readings and discussion, practical session and material making. The course is designed such that it highlights the important work of an adult as an assistant to the child's development. It opens the way for adults to assist children both at home and in school. It helps interested adults work with children in a Montessori environment. Upon completion of the course requirements, participants are awarded a certificate from AMI.

6. Can I be a teacher if I do an Assistant’s Course?

Answer: The assistant course certificate course equips you to only work as an assistant in a Montessori school.

7. Is there any accommodation available with the centre?

Answer: The Montessori Training and Research Trust does not provide hostel facilities. However we can guide and support students while they look for accommodation if required. MTRT neither recommends nor endorses any hostels. Students need to budget appropriately for board and lodging for the duration of the course.

8. Is there any refund on the course fees?

Answer: The fee is non-refundable. Once paid it cannot be refunded for any reason either prior to the commencement of or during the course on withdrawal of a student. Students will be required to submit a Refund Policy Acceptance letter at the time of payment of fee.

9. Is it mandatory to be fluent in English to follow the course?

Answer: All lectures will be in English. Course work will need to be presented in English both orally and in writing. It will be necessary for students to take comprehensive lecture notes, and write original essays and prepare assignments based on course information. Students will also be required to explain theoretical principles during the Oral examination.

10. Is there any course in the local language?

Answer: Currently courses are only offered in English.

11. Are the course recognized by the government?

Answer: Currently the courses are not government recognized. The Course and Certificates offered at the Montessori Training and Research Trust are affiliated to the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Amsterdam. The AMI certificate is an internationally recognized certificate.
